Eat well, exercise, sleep, engage with others, get regular health screenings…we all know the ‘secrets’ of staying healthy and hopefully, we’re all doing the best we can! But, life is hard sometimes and for that reason I’m always looking for new ideas that can help me reach my goals.

Here are a few I’d like to share this month...

  • Spinach, spinach, spinach!: It's always in top ten healthiest foods lists and there are so many ways to incorporate it into your diet. Sure, you can have a spinach salad or cook some as your veggie at dinner time. But, I also love throwing some in my smoothies; mixing some in to my scrambled eggs; adding a few leafs onto my sandwiches; and even chopping some up to add to my favorite pasta sauce. A powerhouse veggie that's super easy to add into your daily meals = a healthy no brainer! Spinach RECIPES.

  • Air Purifiers: I’ve noticed a big difference in my allergies and also furniture dust since I purchased two Levoit Air Purifiers. I keep one in the family room and one in my bedroom and boy am I AMAZED at all the dust that gets trapped when I change the filters ☹️. Another bonus is the slight buzzing sound it makes...a little white noise definitely helps me sleep! AVAILABLE ON AMAZON

  • Alex Snodgrass of The Defined Dish: This chef/cookbook was recommended to me by a friend and I gotta tell you, her meals have not disappointed! I'm always looking for new recipes that are delicious and easy to follow and both of Alex's books- Dinner Tonight and The Comfortable Kitchen -are full of those. My favorites so far are the crispy sheet pan pesto gnocchi and the easy Italian white been soup...yum 😋! ORDER HERE

  • Sour Candy: I’ve always loved sour candy, so when I read recently that eating some when your on the verge of a panic attack can help divert your attention away from your worries, I was thrilled! I’ve always used the 'focus on your senses approach' to dealing with panic and anxiety, but sucking on a sour candy is so much more fun than snapping a hair tie on your wrist, counting tiles on the ceiling, or sniffing some lavender oil 🤣. I say do whatever works, but chewing a delicious sour candy sounds like the best option of all!

  • Blueland Cleaning Tablets: Do you wonder what happens to the plastic wrapping on your detergent pod when you put it into your washer or dishwasher? I’m not a doctor, but I can't imagine that the melted plastic has chemicals in it that are good for us 🤷🏼‍♀️. Certainly, no plastic pods are a better option so why not give these Blueland tablets a try. I have been using them for a while and they work great! Plus the tins they come in are super cute. • Cocofloss: Every time I get my teeth cleaned I promise myself I'll be better about regular flossing. So, when I discovered this floss I was thrilled. Not only does it come in several yummy flavors, the floss itself has a unique design that makes it super effective. Oh and did I mention it's eco-friendly? Subscription plans make it easy to never run out too. ORDER HERE

  • House of Noa Kitchen Mats; What does this product have to do with being healthy...you may ask? Known as anti-fatigue mats, these cushy foam mats help to reduce the strains put on our back, legs, and feet while standing. If you're feeling the effects of aging, a mat like this can help! I love the House of Noa mats in particular because they come in so many beautiful designs and because they sell runners that fit perfectly along the sink side of my large kitchen island. Super durable, easy to clean, nice on the eyes, and good for my body = yes please! ORDER HERE

  • Green Smoothie: In a blender mix: 1 handful of spinach; 1 stalk of celery; 1/2 an apple; 1/2 an orange; a bit of fresh ginger; 1/2 a cucumber; and 2 cups of coconut water/milk. Enjoy a glass and save the rest for the next few days. It's a doable taste (I actually like it) and I promise you it will make you feel invigorated each morning!

Small changes can have a BIG impact on your health!
