Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (my FAVORITE holiday movie -along with Elf and Home Alone) was released in 1964 and I’m sure you’ve seen it a zillion times, as have I. But, have you ever stopped to think about all the magnificent life lessons it teaches? Yes, I said life lessons! An animated special that you have probably watched for the music and the laughs, is really a treasure trove of valuable life lessons.
Sadly, we STILL need to be reminded of them some 50+ years later so...READ UP! 👇🏼

Sam the Snowman/Older People: Seniors are adorable, always cold, and brimming with wisdom. We shouldn’t let them live in the forest/houses alone where they can get lonely and we should always heed their advice!

Hermey/LGBTQ+ Community: Just because you style your hair uniquely and aspire to a way of life that is different than the majority, you are no less valuable than anyone else. In fact, your individuality of interests and talents brings joy to and serves a purpose in our toy workshop/world.

Yukon Cornelious/Introverts: Loners are sometimes quirky, but they often have hearts of silver and gold. They are worth the effort to get to know and they make solid friends.

Sleigh Dogs/Protesting Millennials: There is an enormous power that erupts when those with lesser size/privilege/voices band together. The synergy they create can help them move sleighs and force social change, too.

Head Elf/King Moonracer/Comet/Clarice/Gender Equality: Unfortunately, old (usually white) guys hold most positions of power in the world while women are admired for their long sexy lashes. {UPDATE: We have a female VP - WOOHOO!}

Abominable Snowman/Militia Groups: If you remove what they perceive is their power, scary people might evolve and become valuable members of society. At least I hope.

Blizzard/Climate Change: Climate change is real, but if we think outside the box, trust science, use all the resources available to us, and prepare adequately - we can endure.

Island of Misfit Toys/Black Lives Matter/Immigration: All of us have value regardless of our color, disability, and place of origin. We all deserve to be treated equally and given the same chances for a life of prosperity and love.

Santa/Mental Health: No one, I repeat, no one is impervious to mental illness. It doesn’t matter how popular or jolly you seem to be, you can still get depressed when things get tough. Reaching out to Elves/friends and Mrs. Claus/family will always help you feel better.

Rudolph/Social Media Dangers: Growing up is hard and coaches/kids can be mean. Embracing your differences instead of trying to hide them with mud/filters is always a better way to go. Be your unique self fully and without abandon. Find your people. They may not be the ones that look like you. And finally….never stop believing in yourself!
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer you’ll go down in history
...as being way ahead of your time!
